Mice were used and exposed to UV radiation to promote skin cancer. Some of the mice were coated with a cream heavy with caffeine.
These caffeinated mice developed 72 % fewer tumors than those not treated by caffeine
The caffeine did not just prevent the tumors from forming, it actually killed the cancer cells.
There is Limited research into of topical treatments for Humans. (Tea extract of polyphenols). The results are promising.
