Our Clinic

Advanced Acupuncture, Inc. was established in 1984 with a beautiful clinic in Arcadia. Dr. Cathryn Hu, the founder of Advanced Acupuncture, Inc., is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine formally trained in China School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In addition, Dr. Hu has completed further post graduate studies in the United States. Dr. Hu has been practicing in California for thirty four years and has also been a professor at South Baylo University.

Accepted by her peers as an acupuncture expert, she has served on the State Board of California as a Chief Examiner for more than ten years. Dr. Hu is also Board Certified by the National Commission of Certification in both Acupuncture and Herbology and is currently a Clinical Research Facilities Committee member at U.C. Irvine Center for the Study of Complementary Health Care and Saint John's Health Center. Dr. Hu is a privileged staff member at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center, Alhambra Hospital, and Saint John's Health Center. She serves as a qualified medical evaluator in workman’s comp system since 1994 and is a board diplomate of American Academy of Pain Management.

We work with your primary physician, as well as lawyers and insurance adjusters, to speed your recovery and reach maximum improvement. Dr. Hu has advanced training in orthopedic acupuncture and was appointed by the Industrial Medical Council as a Qualified Medical Examiner, serving since 1994.

Our staff is familiar in dealing with Worker Compensation procedures and Personal Injury cases. The uniqueness of our practice is that in addition to quality care, we also offer wellness classes that introduce integrated Eastern and Western medical approaches and self-care techniques every month.
